Due to the current situation, this year Danubiart is dealing with street art from Ukraine and street art on the subject of war in Ukraine. The exhibition documents the last few months with a focus on street art and other artistic positions.

As a connecting line from world heritage to world heritage, from Regensburg to the Danube delta on the Black Sea, the Danube forms the core of the idea of Danubiart and the occasion to bring artists from the countries bordering the Danube together and to network. Danubiart is thus following a core World Heritage idea: peaceful international understanding through cultural exchange. The Danube also forms a direct 54 km border with Ukraine and the Odessa Oblast. The city of Odessa has been linked to Regensburg by a city partnership for over 30 years. This partnership between the two cities, the connection through the Danube, which connects Regensburg and the Ukraine, as well as the current situation in the Ukraine and the freedom-loving democratic idea prompt the choice of topic. On the one hand, the exhibition wants to create a bridge, put human fate in the foreground and illuminate the incomprehensible from the perspective of street art. On the other hand, the aim of the exhibition is to make people aware of the situation in Ukraine and the need for peaceful international understanding, to show solidarity with the people in Ukraine and, with the help of (street) art, to provide support for dealing with the consequences of the collect war.
